Transportation to / from Porto Carras

The Symposium will take place in the Porto Carras Grand Resort located inside a paradise in Northern Greece on the western coast of Sithonia Halkidiki’s central peninsula. The nearest airport is Macedonia Airport (SKG) located at Thessaloniki, Greece. Macedonia airport is frequently connected to many European cities. Frequent links to Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos (ATH), ensure easy transfer from all destinations in the world.

TRANSPORTATION BETWEEN MACEDONIA AIRPORT AND PORTO CARRAS

By taxi
We can book you a private taxi from the airport to the hotel or vice versa. Taxis can accommodate up to 4 passengers and 2 suitcases or 3 passengers and 3 suitcases. Cost per way: 145 EUR

By car
By car.

In order to facilitate the transportation of participants from and to the airport the following car hire services have been arranged specially for the Symposium:

1) Rent a Car only for the date of your arrival or departure (day use):

• Rent a car from Makedonia international Airport and drop it off to Porto Carras Grand Resort on the same day.

--------------Or----------------

• Rent a car from Porto Carras Grand Resort on the date of your departure and drop it off at Makedonia International Airport before your flight departs.

Cost of one day rental + surcharge for changing pick up & drop off station:

• Category B (1200cc - Hyundai Getz, Fiat Panda or similar) - 105€
• Category C (1200cc - Toyota Yaris, Peugeot 206 or similar) - 110€

2) Rent a car for your whole stay (4 days or more):

• Rent a car for 4 days or more. Car can be picked up from Makedonia international Airport or Porto Carras Grand Resort but it must be delivered to the same location that it was rented from.

 Cost of rental per day:

• Category B (1200cc - Hyundai Getz, Fiat Panda or similar) - 40€/day
• Category C (1200cc - Toyota Yaris, Peugeot 206 or similar) - 45€/day

Between 21:00 - 08:00 - ADDITIONAL COST OF 24€

• Pick up or Delivery of cars at Porto Carras Grand Resort. 24hrs/Day Service:

In Porto Carras there are two offices for renting or delivering your car. One is in Meliton Hotel & the other in Sithonia Hotel.
Both offices operate 24hrs/day and you can pick up or drop of the car at any time with no additional cost.

• All mentioned prices include insurance and road assistance

• All participants that will rent a car should have with them:

Valid driver’s license
A valid credit card that will be used for guarantee reasons only.

By the Symposiums’ shuttle bus
The following bus service will be organized by our agency in order to facilitate the attendees.
Below you will find a reservation form which you are kindly requested to fill and return it by e-mail to: info@era.gr.

By public transportation
In case none of the above mentioned alternatives suits your schedule, you may use the public transportation. In this case, use a taxi from the airport to the bus station (KTEL CHALKIDIKIS Intercity Bus Station), and travel by bus to Neos Marmaras, and then again by taxi to Porto Carras.

Below you may find the pertinent bus schedule which you should confirm before your departure.
Dep. from Thessaloniki to N. Marmaras: 09:30, 12:45 and 17:45
Dep. from N. Marmaras to Thessaloniki: 08:00, 15:00 and 18:15
The approximate cost of the taxi from the Airport to KTEL CHALKIDIKIS bus station is 10-15€
The approximate cost of the bus per person per way is 13€
The approximate cost of the taxi from N. Marmaras to Porto Carras is 8-10€
